Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 10, 2026

Voice2Txt is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your voice data belongs to you and only you.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data. Voice2Txt does not:

Voice Processing

All speech recognition is performed entirely on your device using Apple's built-in Speech Recognition framework (SFSpeechRecognizer). Your audio data is processed locally by macOS and is never sent to our servers — because we don't have any servers involved in the transcription process.

Apple's Speech Recognition

Voice2Txt uses Apple's on-device speech recognition. Apple may process some speech data according to their own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles speech recognition data. When available, Voice2Txt uses on-device recognition which keeps all processing local.

Permissions

Voice2Txt requires the following macOS permissions to function:

These permissions are managed by macOS and can be revoked at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Data Storage

Voice2Txt stores only your app preferences (such as selected language and hotkey settings) locally on your Mac using standard macOS UserDefaults. No transcription history is stored.

Third-Party Services

Voice2Txt does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Children's Privacy

Voice2Txt does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
